“Stories of Early Galveston,”
The Second of Galveston Historical Foundation’s New Storytelling Series, to Take Place on Saturday, July 7, at the Samuel May Williams House

The expansive and shaded grounds of the restored 1839 home of Galveston’s co-founder, Samuel May Williams, 3601 Avenue P, will be the site for “Stories of Early Galveston,” the second installment of GHF’s new storytelling series.

Participants are invited to bring a blanket and a picnic for enjoying on the grounds while costumed re-enacters portray the lives of real characters from history. Samuel May Williams and others central to the early-19th-century founding of Galveston will tell their stories.

The program will take place from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, July 7, 2007. Admission, which includes a tour of the historic home, is $3 for adults, $2 for children, and free for children six and younger. Call 409-765-7834 for more information.
