Architectural Salvage Warehouse
Galveston Historical Foundation’s Preservation and Conservation Services Department has offered architectural salvage for resale for the past twenty years. All materials are donated from renovation or demolition projects around the Island. We accept most types of architectural elements for donation, but the main body of the stock is:
- Doors
- Windows
- Shutters
- Bathroom Fixtures
- Door & Window Hardware
- Balusters and Handrails
- Decorative Woodwork (crown molding, bead-board, base-boards, chair rails, and trim)
When searching for a particular item, it is best to check in often. We regularly receive new donations.
All the proceeds from the warehouse go towards operating funds for the Preservation and Conservation Services Department. All donations to the Galveston Historical Foundation are tax deductible. You may drop off your donations during regular business hours on Wednesday or Saturday, or arrangements for pick ups can be made by contacting Matt Farragher at 409-765-3424 or matt.farragher@galvestonhistory.org
Along with supplying financial support for the department’s programming, the warehouse serves a dual purpose of keeping valued architectural elements out of the landfills. All items are sold with the stipulation that they stay on Galveston Island, which helps to maintain the authentic architectural fabric of the Island. The upstairs of the Architectural Salvage Warehouse also contains a classroom for GHF’s Spring & Fall Preservation Classes. This series offers a combination of practical how-to instructional classes and informative lectures on topics of local architectural and historical significance.
