Galveston Scout Hosts Pancake Breakfast to Raise Funds for Rosewood Cemetery Fence Construction Project
Local Scout Sean Moran of Troop 124, sponsored by St. Peter the Apostle Church, is currently working on his Eagle Scout Project which involves constructing a fence around Rosewood Cemetery. As a part of his project Sean is also raising the funds for the materials to be used in the construction. He will be putting on an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at Chili’s restaurant, 500 Seawall Blvd. this Saturday, September 22 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door by anyone wishing to show support. GHF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and your donation may be tax deductible. John and Judy Saracco gave Rosewood Cemetery to the Galveston Historical Foundation in December, 2006. It was the first cemetery in Galveston established for African Americans, and is the resting place of over 400 individuals.
