Registration Forms Now Available Online for Second Annual Historic Galveston Rebirth Revival Race, presented by Mostyn Law Firm, scheduled for the morning of Saturday, September 11, 2010.
In hopes of improving upon last year's success, this year's race will offer U.S Track and Field Certified 5K and 10K routes for participants as well as a 1K Kids' Run.
Last year's 5K Rebirth Race was a huge success with more than 950 runners and walkers registered and 150 volunteers. "And that's not even counting all the people who were cheering and waving flags on their porches," says Clay Wade, director of events at GHF. The race route begins at the Mardi Gras arch in front of the Historic Tremont House hotel, and winds through the historic downtown, Silk Stocking, Kempner Park and San Jacinto neighborhoods. After the race, there will be a family-friendly celebration at Saengerfest Park.
"We are very excited to offer this fun and healthy event to the line-up of our other fundraisers. Support of the 1K Kids' Run, 5K and 10K Run/Walk will enable GHF to persist in keeping Galveston historic," says Wade.
The Mostyn Law Firm is partnering with GHF to sponsor the race.
"Galveston Island has been part of my family for as long as I can remember," says Steve Mostyn, the firm's founder. "Every summer we vacationed here, creating the best memories of my life. Now, we own a condo here where we bring our kids almost every weekend. I am happy to give back to Galveston by supporting Galveston Historical Foundation and the restoration of Galveston Island."
